VIVO360 was honored to be a part of the 48th NAACP Image Awards. After months of preparation, the award show events took place February 9 – 11 in Pasadena, California. VIVO360’s integral role was to create the award show website and the voting system for the general public. The strategy for the website was to release snippets and build anticipation for the awards show which was the major event. First, we started with a landing page that gave general information about the date and time of the show. The next phase of the project was another landing page, but this time, there was an added video to create buzz. There was also a section to submit information for nominees. The last and final phase of the website was the full website with a full list of nominees and special honorees.

The special honorees included notables like the director of the Smithsonian’s National Museum of African American History and Culture, Lonnie G. Bunche, III and LeBron James.

During the award show events VIVO360 got to hear some amazing award acceptance speeches from the likes of Viola Davis and Denzel Washington, both of whom had an overwhelming admiration for the organization and the accomplishments each of them were able to accomplish because of the relentless vision of the NAACP.

  • Is your website optimized for search engines?

Audit your website content. Is your content valuable to your end-user? What are the keywords you use on each page? What keywords would your end-user search for when looking for your specific content? These are some questions you need to ask yourself when writing content for your website. Think about how your end-user will search for your content and what keywords they would search for.

  • What are Keywords?

Keywords are the words typed into search engines. They are usually the topics that searchers are trying to learn more about. To find out what keywords your end-users are searching with, you need to do some research. The research would include which words that relate to your business and industry that a searcher might use. What are your end-user’s goals? What are their problems? What language would they use to search for a solution to a problem they are having? Once you have the answers to these questions you will be able to create a list of keywords to plug into your website content.

  • How do I optimize keywords to specific website pages?

Add your list keywords to page titles and the URLs. Add the keyword to the page headers, image alt-text and the rest of the content on the page. Add the keyword to the meta description. This way search engines can scan your content quickly and easily to make sure your website is listed in the search results.

  • Keep your content fresh and up to date.

Make sure you consistently have new content on your website and blogs. Having new content keeps your end-user interested in the conversations you are having. This also gives the impression that your website is not just “brochureware” but a dynamic living creature that your end-user can interact with and gain knowledge from.

Award-winning digitally-led creative agency, VIVO360, Inc. (VIVO360) is pleased to announce the redesign and building of several digital experiences for the 48th NAACP Image Awards, including landing pages and the website, www.naacpimageawards.net. The website features a Parallax scrolling animation technique which simulates 3D depth by moving the background slower than the layers in the foreground.

The Awards will telecast live on TV One on Saturday, February 11, 2017. Image Awards winner, Emmy-award nominated actor and star of black-ish, Anthony Anderson, returns as host. The NAACP Image Awards is recognized as the Nation’s preeminent multi-cultural awards show from an African American point of view. The event celebrates the outstanding achievements and performances of people of color in the arts, as well as those individuals or groups who promote social justice through their creative endeavors.

The award ceremony was first presented in 1967 and was first nationally televised in 1994. Submissions are now open and the eligibility period for all projects is January 1, 2016, through December 31, 2016. Honorees, presenters, performers and social justice advocates have included many of the major celebrities in America as well as international political figures and dignitaries. There are 55 competitive categories in the fields of motion picture, television, recording and literature. There are also several honorary awards including the Chairman’s Award, President’s Award, Vanguard Award, Entertainer of the Year and the Image Awards Hall of Fame.
