As co-creator of this magnificent event, the objective was to recognize and honor influencers that positively impact the communities in which they live. The COI Awards is about bridging the gap and promoting cooperation and collaboration between influencers of past generations (like the Civil Rights Movement) that impacted social and economic change and paved the way for the influencers of today. A special thank you to the Jackson family for allowing us to screen the trailer of the documentary film entitled MAYNARD. This film chronicles the life of the man, the politician, and the game changer who became Atlanta’s first Black Mayor. The film is produced by Wendy Eley Jackson and Maynard Holbrook Jackson III; and is directed by Academy Award nominee, Emmy Award winner, and four-time Peabody Award winner Sam Pollard (Slavery by Another Name, Three Little Girls, When the Levees Broke, Frank Sinatra, August Wilson, and, just recently, Sammy Davis, Jr “I’ve Gotta Be Me.”

The NAACP Image Awards celebrates the accomplishments of people of color in the fields of television, music, literature and film and also honors individuals or groups who promote social justice through creative endeavors.

The nominees for the 48th NAACP Image Awards were announced on Tuesday, December 13, 2016. ABC and HBO lead the nominations in the television categories with 23 nominations and 14 nominations, respectively. In the recording category, Columbia Records leads with 16 nominations, followed by RCA Records with 10 nominations and Atlantic Records with 4 nominations. Walt Disney Studios leads with 9 nominations, followed by Focus Features with 7 nominations, while A24 and Fox Searchlight Pictures both received 6 nominations in the motion picture categories.

Beyoncé leads the pack with 7 nominations, followed by her sister Solange Knowles with 5 nominations. Additionally, Chance the Rapper and Kendrick Lamar received 4 nominations, while Donald Glover and Nate Parker both received nominations for 3 awards.

Winners will be announced during the two-hour star-studded event hosted by Anthony Anderson, which will broadcast LIVE on TV ONE on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at 9pm/8c as a two-hour special. A 90-minute pre-show will air live from the red carpet at 7:30pm/6:30c.

Add your list keywords to page titles and the URLs. Add the keyword to the page headers, image alt-text and the rest of the content on the page. Add the keyword to the meta description. This way search engines can scan your content quickly and easily to make sure your website is listed in the search results.

  • Keep your content fresh and up to date.

Make sure you consistently have new content on your website and blogs. Having new content keeps your end-user interested in the conversations you are having. This also gives the impression that your website is not just “brochureware” but a dynamic living creature that your end-user can interact with and gain knowledge from.
